Opportunities

Admission of students is based on their skills in insect ecology and biology, statistics, and GIS, as well as his/her ability to work hard. In this space, we bring some information about NEMI, such as our expectations for undergraduate and graduate students.

The topics covered in the NEMI are pretty varied, and undergraduate and graduate student projects can cover different aspects of each of the interests of our group. The undergraduate student initially participates in ongoing projects and, according to his/her effort and interest, may be responsible for projects in the future.

We believe that it is important for graduate students to create his/her own scientific questions and develop methodologies for responding to the elaborated questions. In this sense, thinking and developing your own research project is a critical part of the graduate experience. The role of NEMI in this process is to give support to the graduate student by providing the appropriate context for learning and development.

ColaboraçãoCollaboration environment

NEMI aims to get together people who like what they do, providing a collaborative environment among colleagues. We believe that the quality of the work will improve when other members of NEMI collaborate with each other. In this sense, we give preference to students who like challenges and feel encouraged to collaborate with the work of other NEMI members.
